Happy Father's Day
Happy Father's Day, dad! We love you so much.
Thank you for being a godly father, protector, provider, and leader!
"The glory of children are their fathers."
{Proverbs 17:6}

Kitties Everywhere
Some friends gave us two kittens this spring. The yellow male ("Winston") has been quite the character and added much excitement to our farm. His sister was expecting kittens, but we found recently that she had passed away. We were disappointed about that and were planning on getting another female cat. But...we should be careful what we ask for, because...
Last week a neighbor brought us a little yellow kitten that was found in her driveway. Since it needed care, we decided to adopt it until its home or owner could be found. Of course, the children made little kitty right at home - starting him off right with a cup of fresh milk!
The next morning, another neighbor walked up - with another kitten in hand. They too had found a kitty, and wondered if it was ours. No, it wasn't...but it must have been kitten #1's sister! So we adopted two homeless kittens.
Needless to say, we have enjoyed their antics and lively company...we're not sure if they have enjoyed our dress-up sessions as much as we have.
Well, if you have any name suggestions, drop 'em by!

A Walk in the Woods
The sun was slipping in the west one beautiful afternoon, leaving splinters of golden beauty in the quiet of the woods. It was time to mount my steed lens and head off into the sunset to capture some of its treasures.
I reached that beautiful spot in the forest where the sun spilled down through the gnarled old roots of this Osage tree beside the trickle-less creek. God's creation is amazing!

that shineth more and more unto the perfect day."

All in a Day's Work
We were thankful for a few beautiful cool days this past weekend, when we could get some outdoor projects done. Everyone was hard at work...
Ok, maybe not everyone |
| Mom working in her garden |
| The men, planning out the new fenceline for the goats |
| Off for more work... |
Belle and the milkmaid |
| Digging up a new flower bed for Rachael's irises |
Thank you, Lord, for work, for farm hands, for family. For sunshine. For Hope and freedom. You have blessed us richly!
"Let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us:
and establish thou the work of our hands upon us;
yea, the work of our hands establish thou it."
{Psalm 90:17}

Creative Summer Fun
Hot weather definitely motivates our children to come up with creative means to cool off. After working outside most of the day, hot and tired, they often enjoy swimming in a (clean) cow waterer. This summer they laid out a large tarp on an incline, coated it in dish soap, set up a sprinkler, and voila! A fun, cool slide.
