Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy birthday, dear Mom! We love you and pray you have a blessed day. We thank our heavenly Father for the blessing you are to our family and the love that you shed abroad to our hearts (Romans 5:5). Thank you!

"For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints;
they are preserved for ever...
The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom,
and his tongue talketh of judgment.
The law of his God is in his heart;
none of his steps shall slide."
{Psalm 37}

Ten Little Piggies

"Welcome to my barn!"
Nathan is officially a "pig farmer" as of yesterday! His first sow that he bought this spring had a litter of piglets. Ten are alive and well  - and very cute! Great job Nathan, with your pig raising adventure, and we hope it goes well for you. Many thanks to Marcus who also helped with the process.

Who says pigs aren't cute?!
Congratulations to a proud ... grandpa?
Ever heard the term "squeal like a stuck pig?" Pigs DO squeal - loudly!
"All thy works shall praise thee,
O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee."

His Eye is On the Sparrow

"Yea, the sparrow hath found an house,
 and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young,
even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.
Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah."
{Psalm 84:4-5}

"Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings,
and not one of them is forgotten before God?
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows."
{Luke 12:6-7}

Strangers from Afar

We've been looking forward to Dana's sister and her family visiting for a while now! Last week Melanie, Tyler, and Leah spent a few days with us and we enjoyed their visit so much. We were obliged to introduce them to life on the farm and what a fun time we had together. Thank you so much for your wonderful visit!

We all enjoyed many projects together...

Milking the cow

Making a quilt and scrapbooking our last visit

Making mozzarella cheese
Grilling steaks
Enjoying the wonderful weather
Shooting Fireworks
Digging out old pictures from Melanie's last visit, in 1996!
Looks like someone has grown a bit since then
Water fights
And of course, no visit is complete without taking family photos...

Family
Sisters
To top that off, Nathan gave us a fun tractor ride back home
Good bye, dear Leah!
We had fun counting sheep with you until we fell asleep each night...
Come see us again soon!

"Many, O LORD my God,
are thy wonderful works which thou hast done,
and thy thoughts which are to us-ward:
they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee:
if I would declare & speak of them,
they are more than can be numbered."

{Psalm 40:5}

Let Freedom Ring!

“He therefore is the truest friend to the liberty of his country
who tries most to promote its virtue, and who,
so far as his power and influence extend,
will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust
who is not a wise and virtuous man ....
 The sum of all is, if we would most truly enjoy this gift of Heaven,
let us become a Virtuous people.
{Samuel Adams}

We are so thankful for our freedom as a country - for those who have died for our nation  - and the spiritual freedom the Lord Jesus Christ granted to us through His blood sacrifice on Calvary. Through Him our physical freedom has meaning, for all men are one race and have been "endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

May God bless all those who are sacrificing much to fight for our freedom; may we be faithful to pass on the legacy and price of freedom to our children and be vigilant to protect it!

We were blessed to celebrate Independence day with the fellowship of friends and neighbors - and wonderful food!
Thank you for your hospitality!
Bryant Family Farm chicken, smoked, baked, and fried - delicious!

For dinner we had a picnic with more friends...
Mr. P. is actually serving his country across the sea now -
thank you so much for your dedication and service!
You and your family are in our prayers.
The little ones - tackling a watermelon?

My country, ’tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing;Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims’ pride,
From every mountainside,
Let freedom ring!

...Accompanied by homemade ice cream
 Our fathers’ God, to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing;
Long may our land be bright
With freedom’s holy light;
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God, our King.
