A Victorious Savior

Christ our Lord is risen!

What a glorious truth this is, one that captivates the hearts of His people! In Isaiah, God promised, "He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth" (Isaiah:8). Christ was victor in every point, though "was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin" (Hebrews 4:15). The reality of Christ's perfection will be one we seek to know more fully throughout eternity with Him in Heaven, for He took upon Himself the punishment due to our sin. In I Corinthians 15:55, we read, "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" Because of Christ's life, death and resurrection, we can believe on His name and have eternal hope through His imputed righteousness upon us.

"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, 

that we, being dead to sins, 

should live unto righteousness: 

by whose stripes ye were healed."

{1 Peter2:24}
