2012 Vacation: Tybee Island

I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever

Tybee Island, Georgia, was our first destination on our trip! Last year we visited Tybee, and  we all looked forward to enjoying its beauties again this spring. Despite the wind and cool weather, we all had a relaxed, blessed time as a family and loved being in the ocean.

The ocean water was much warmer this year than it was last year

Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever...

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; 

and his greatness is unsearchable...

The wind created beautiful rainbow-tinted spray from the waves

I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, 

and of thy wondrous works...

One generation shall praise thy works to another...

 

I will declare thy greatness...

They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness,

 and shall sing of thy righteousness...

 

The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; 
slow to anger, and of great mercy...

The LORD is good to all:

 and his tender mercies are over all his works...

All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD...

Thy saints shall bless thee...

 

They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power...

To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, 

and the glorious majesty of his kingdom...

Vacation 2012: Hitting the Road

Each winter, we take a family vacation while our goats and cows are dry. Much anticipation - and preparation - goes into getting ready for this time away!

We pre-made many meals for our travel, including bean burritos,
pizza crusts, salmon patties, homemade cereal, and other quick snacks

Finally...the big moment arrives...when we head out

We had many activities to help occupy our road time, which ended up totaling around 55+hours.
Of course, everyone had a big stack of "Fur Fish Game" magazines to read as the miles passed

Fellowship

Exercise Projects

Nathan has been hosting exercising challenges for our family and friends. It's been great motivation for all of us to keep fit and "on our toes." Last month he challenged us to do 2000 pushups and 2000 crunches. We had many "breath-taking" views of our ceiling and floors, but enjoyed the exercise. In March, his challenge is to walk/run a certain number of miles and do pull-ups. If you'd like to join him, send him a note (nathan@bryantfamilyfarm.com). Great job, Nathan!

Meet Our New...

Last week, one of our heifers had a solid black bull calf!

To protect our sheep herd, we welcomed a great Pyrenees puppy to Bryant Family Farm!  She will live with the sheep to keep the coyotes and other predators away from the defenseless lambs. She is a welcome addition since Sam, our dog of 11 years, died last fall.

Renovation: Complete!

The past few months, our home has been under renovation. We are thankful for the many memories of working together and the fruitfulness of hard labor!
